Sephora Play! November 2016

Today I have my Sephora Play box review for November, yay! This is coming a bit later than usual because I wanted to take individual photos of everything but it’s been getting dark so early 😐 so I decided to just use Christmas lights as my ambient lighting and roll with it haha

bag-and-card

November’s theme was Best in Glow, with items that are supposed to help you “bypass winter dullness”. Isn’t this month’s bag so cute?

As always, the box comes with six products, a small bag, a card for 50 extra Beauty Insider points and a how-to info sheet. The products I got this month areeeeee:

Cover FX Illuminating Primer ($38) is a lightweight face primer that’s supposed to make your skin bright and eliminate dullness. I got another “illuminating primer” by a different brand in a box a few months ago, and to me it doesn’t really make much of a difference so we’ll see what this one does. This probably isn’t something I would have bought normally because I have many cheaper primers that I love, but I’ll definitely use it.

Next is the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rose Gold ($29). This is a GORGEOUS shimmery eyeshadow stick that’s super creamy and the color is beautiful. I swatched it below but the pic seriously doesn’t do it justice – this is such a stunning color and perfect for the holidays. I wore it to work and it stayed on really well all day. This is definitely a win for me!

The next one may be more of a miss for me – it’s the Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel in Pin Up Pink ($12). I was kinda bummed to get this because I really, really hate lip glosses lol I don’t own a single one at the moment. I much prefer matte lips, and even if they aren’t matte I usually find lip glosses to be goopy and sticky and gross. The color is a bright hot pink so I’m not sure how much I will use it. I’ll try to make it work for the sake of trying it lol

Next is the Estee Edit Dissolve the Drama 2-in-1 Makeup Remover and Cleanser ($32). I hate to say it but this is another one that I was a bit displeased to receive lol idk, I feel like a makeup remover is a bit of a lame product to receive in a beauty box. And a makeup remove that’s $32???? Tragic. Ever since I’ve started using coconut oil as a makeup remover none of these cleansing oils or wipes or anything feel the same anymore. I used this to remove my eye makeup last night and it took three cotton pads to get everything off. I’ll use this up but most likely wouldn’t buy it on my own.

Time for a positive thing!! Next I have the GlamGlow SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment ($69) which I already know I love!! I’ve talked about GlamGlow before during the VIB Sale as well as my October Empties (where I had this exact sample). I saw in some other variations of this month’s box people got different varieties, and I would have liked to try something new but I can always go get a sample from Sephora. I’ve used this SuperMud before and I already know I like it. I’m excited to have something to add to my little box of masks 😀

Finally we have this month’s perfume – Pop by Stella McCartney ($72). As usual I am awful at describing scents, but this one is described as “a floral woody fragrance that is bright, contemporary, and positive”. It has notes of tomato leaves, violet, plumeria, sandalwood, and musk – again, I don’t know what any of that smells like but it smells good haha. I’ll throw this one on the pile of perfume samples that I enjoy but will never actually buy the full size of 😉

As for the value of this month’s box, I did my maths and the total value of this box is $54!! I paid only $10 so it’s definitely worth the money. Even though I got two duds this month (which might not even end up to be duds, we’ll see) I also got the GlamGlow which I’m SO excited about, and that beautiful rose gold eyeshadow stick. I think overall while not my favorite Sephora box, it’s definitely a good value!

That’s all for today! Check out my other reviews of Sephora Play to see if it’s something you might like…this would make a great Christmas gift, I think!!
