Celebrating The Holidays at Walt Disney World

The holidays are without a doubt one of the most magical times at Walt Disney World, and today for the 12 Days of Kaelamas I’m going to tell you ALL ABOUT IT. This originally was going to be a post specifically of fun things to do for couples, but I decided these are really fun to do with anyone haha. These are some of my favorite ways to celebrate the holidays at Walt Disney World, whether it’s with your significant other, your family or your best friends!

1. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

It’s obvious from my recap post that I’m a big fan of the Christmas Party. It’s SUCH a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and the atmosphere is amazing. When else are you ever going to see snow on Main Street? The special holiday parade and fireworks are incredible as well. You can also see the fireworks and parade during Christmas week, but it’s jam packed from wall to wall with people, and it’s much more pleasant during the party with room to move around. The Christmas Party is pricey but it’s one of my favorite events at WDW and we had such a good time this year!

2. Holidays Around the World at Epcot

Epcot is my favorite park, so I love going there around Christmas on a GOOD day…but with the addition of the holiday foods this year in World Showcase, they somehow made it even better!! We’re going there this week so I don’t have any reviews or photos yet but they’re soon to come I’m sure! The Holiday Storytellers are also super fun and festive, and I also really enjoy the Candlelight Processional – I sang in the choir in high school! Epcot’s Christmas decor is very classy and I love going around to each country to take it all in. Don’t forget to stay for the Peace on Earth holiday part of Illuminations, aka the BEST fireworks show I’ve ever seen!!

3. Christmas shopping at Disney Springs

This one is especially relevant now that Disney Springs has so many new stores!! Disney Springs has really come into its own this year, and the new holiday decorations are beautiful. It’s a great place to get all your Christmas shopping done in one spot. In the Marketplace area, there’s also a new Christmas Tree Trail full of themed trees for different movies. I have a whole post coming of my favorite trees in WDW but here’s a few!

4. Viewing holiday decor at resorts

Okay, I know I keep saying that everything on this list is the best, but legitimately… the themed decor that goes up at every Disney resort is one of the BEST things about the holidays in WDW!! It’s so much fun to go out and look at all the different trees and everything. We usually go multiple times each year and I still feel like I haven’t seen them all. One of my favorite ways to do it is by taking a self guided “tour” of all the resorts, like this one. Some of my favorites are Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Grand Floridian!

5. Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Just kidding. RIP. Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM is pretty cute though. They also have some very delightful fake snow on Hollywood Boulevard. It’s no Osborne Lights, but it’s very cute!

I’m sure there’s way more things, but those are just a few of my favorite ways to celebrate the holidays at Disney! I’ve been spending basically every day off doing holiday things and I still feel like I might not be able to do them all. Makes me wanna go Christmas shopping right now, actually… but that’s all for now! hope you enjoyed this edition of the 12 Days of Kaelamas 🙂
