Friday Favorites #3 – 2/3

It’s that time again! I’ve started to really enjoy these Friday Favorites posts, because they let me talk about things that are too small to feature in their own post but still worth mentioning 🙂

Eating Samples at Costco

idk why Chris’s default face is annoyed when I tell him to take a selfie with me lol

Starting things off right….lol. So my parents gave me a Costco membership for Christmas, and Chris and I went there this week to get new tires for my car. While we waited, we walked around the store eating all the samples, and I truly forgot how much fun it is hahah. We tried fancy cheese, sandwiches, chicken wings, cheeseburgers, yogurt, trail mix…it was such a lovely assortment!!! I love Costco!!! I mentioned in my wedding planning post that we’re considering getting some things through them so we will definitely be making good use of this membership. Highly recommended, we will probably go back next week and do it again.

My Target Planner

Target is probably my most visited place aside from work, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise that I got my planner for this year from Target. I’ve used lots of planners but this year I was favoring something simple and small to keep myself organized. I love this tiny blue one – the color is beautiful and bright and the spaces inside are just the right size for my notes and planning. And it’s small enough to fit in my purse too! I’m especially loving it this week because we have a bunch of things going on lately, and it’s really helped me keep my head straight.

Elf Pore-Refining Mask Brush Tool

elf

This is a recent find for me but I absolutely love it!! I love doing face masks and this brush makes it so much easier to apply them. The green end is a flat little rubbery spatula that’s perfect for applying clay masks without getting my hands all dirty. I also like it because it’s more sanitary than dipping your hand into the pot every time and getting it all schmutzy. The other end is a dense brush that works really well for cleaning off the masks afterward. The description for this brush says it’s good for applying and blending foundation but I don’t think I would really like it for that…but I love it for masks! And for only $5, you can’t really beat it 🙂

Frugal February

I wanted to mention this in my favorites this week even though it’s only February 3, because this is my new month-long no buy! I’ve had a lot of expenses this month and I decided to go on a no buy to get myself in a better spot. The rules this time are no eating out more than once a week, no Starbucks (except free drinks), and no makeup or clothes purchases. It’s going to be a fun month I’m sure!!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig

Okay, I know everyone is getting tired of hearing how much I love Kat Von D makeup haha so I’ll keep this short. KVD released six new liquid lipsticks recently, and I was salivating at the swatches. I went to Sephora to see them in person and I limited myself to ONE (even though they were all beautiful!!) The one I decided on is Ludwig, a beautiful nude that I’m now obsessed with. I couldn’t get the lighting quite right to accurately show the color – it’s warmer than in the pics above but the one below of me wearing it closer to the true color. I find that I really gravitate towards these warm nudes and browns recently…paired with the warm eye look from the Shade + Light Palette I’ve been doing lately, it’s a new style for me but I’m really loving it. I can’t get any more this month cuz of Frugal February, but the one I’m eyeing next is Sanctuary, a beautiful cool brown! I wore Ludwig yesterday and it’s just so pretty…I had been wearing it for 8 hours in this pic and it’s still going strong (with bonus Teddy):

Flowers from Chris

flowers

This is the second week in a row that I’ve come into the kitchen to find seemingly random but beautiful flowers in the kitchen from Chris, for no reason at all. I know it seems cliche and cheesy and lame but it’s such a small thing that I think is so sweet and makes me really happy. Chris says he likes doing it because he knows it makes me happy but also reminds him that money isn’t everything, and it’s worth it to spend a little bit to be happy. I wanted to include them in my post this week because I feel like that kind of is the point of these posts – to remind myself that even the little things that make me happy are worth noticing <3

That’s this week’s Friday Favorites!! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading 🙂 What were your favorite things from this week?
