Target Beauty Box May 2017

This post is coming at you later than usual because like I mentioned in my Sephora post for May – I was busy during the month of May haha. But here we are nonetheless and I’m so excited about this box! After two boxes from April, we’re back down to one Target Beauty Box for May. I actually didn’t look at spoilers for this month so I was completely surprised when I opened the box…and I’m happy to say that it was definitely a pleasant surprise!!!

Target Beauty Box

  • Cost: $5-10 – this month’s was $10
  • Frequency: Monthly, but you have to remember to order it each time. I get emails from My Subscription Addiction to remind me when each box goes on sale!
  • Type of products: Deluxe samples and sometimes full sized versions of beauty products
  • Reviews from my previous boxes here!

Like I said, I didn’t look at the spoilers for this month before the box arrived so I was totally surprised at the contents. Like in the past few boxes, they’re continuing with the “Hello _____” theme with the info card. I like the cohesive theme throughout each month’s box. It makes it feel like a series or something and like each box is related to each other. The packaging is simple and cute!

I was seriously THRILLED with some of the items in this box – this is a really good selection of products! This month we got 8 items:

Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Bath Bombs
$5.00 value

I was so excited to see this in the box because I love bath bombs!! I didn’t have a bathtub our last apartment, so I really appreciate being able to take baths in our current place. I also love everything coconut scented so these were a dream for me. They’re pretty reasonably priced too and made from organic and fair trade ingredients…might have to go get the full size pack of these once I’m done!

Acure Pore Clarifying Red Clay Mask
$8.82 value

When I first saw this one I had to do a double take because I thought it was a repeat of a scrub we got in the April Naturals box! It’s not exactly the same though – this one is a mask instead. It’s very similar though, with the same texture, scent, and reddish color of the scrub. I really liked the scrub though and it’s no secret that I love masks, so I’m looking forward to using this one. I’m sure it will make my face look ridiculous!

Guess Dare Fragrance
$1.40 value

I’m very meh about this being in the box but there’s a lot of other good stuff so I don’t mind too much. I’m awful at scents but to me it smells…fruity? I don’t know. I’m going to throw it into my bag of perfume samples and pull it out at a later date I’m sure haha

Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask
$3.20 value

Yay, another mask!! I’m going to have to start using them daily with as many as I have haha. Vichy must be a really up and coming brand because I’ve been seeing them everywhere lately. I also love how this is divided into two distinct uses so you get to try it twice! At only $20 full size this might be another one I might have to pick up!

nexxus pt2

Nexxus Vitall 8-in-1 Rejuventating Masque
$3.99 value

Another mask – but for my hair haha! This is sold as a single use packet just like this, so it’s actually a full size product…yay! I’ve actually for some reason gotten really interested in hair care lately, so this is right up my alley this month. This one is meant to nourish, strengthen and soften hair – all things I am interested in.

Nexxus Therappe Moisture Rebalancing Shampoo and Conditioner
$0.50 value total

Nexxus must really be pushing their products this month because they have a second set of items as well! These were only good for one use for me, but I appreciate that they’re in little bottles rather than lame foil packets. In any case, they smell SO GOOD. It smells like something fancy they’d have at a salon rather than something I could buy at Target! I really liked them both.

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish
$2.34 value

These last two items are my favorite in the box!! Soap & Glory is a relatively new brand to Target I think? But I previously have some of their stuff from Ulta that I really love. Their signature scent is this grapefruit floral-y deliciousness and I really love their almost exclusively pink packaging. This item is their “body polish” to make your skin smooth and lovely. I’ve been using it in the shower along with my body wash from S&G and I love it!! It makes my skin soooo smooth and smells amazing. It made me wanna go out and buy all their products immediately.

Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in Nice to Fuschia
$4.99 value

Finally, I was SOOOO excited to see this in the box!! I had no idea that Target was starting to carry Wet n Wild??? I checked thoroughly at my Target and didn’t find a display but my store is also under a heavy refurbishment right now, so I’m hoping it’s coming! Tons of beauty bloggers I follow have been raving about these liquid lipsticks so I was so excited to try it. This color is absolutely beautiful and I love wearing bright/deep pink colors, so it was perfect for me! I’m glad they decided to put in a bright color rather than a generic nude. This is also a full-size item! I hope my Target gets some more W&W products soon…I could go crazy buying everything!

Some swatches:

That lipstick is just STUNNING!!!! Here’s what it looked like when I wore it:

Inside we also have our typical info card, with descriptions and a coupon for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more at Target:

Adding up all the values of everything in our box, it comes out to a total of $30.24! Pretty good for a $10 box.

laid out

I was so happy with this box and honestly…after the lackluster Sephora box I got this month, it only made my decision to cancel Sephora Play seem easier! For now I’ll definitely continue getting the Target box. This month the Soap & Glory scrub, liquid lipstick and bath bombs made the box super worth it for me, and I feel like Target is only getting better with their products and selection. Here’s hoping June’s is just as good!
