Target Beauty Box July 2017

It’s that time again – Target Beauty Box time!!

box

I don’t know why I include this photo every month as if the outside of the box looks different at all lol

Target Beauty Box

  • Cost: $5-10 – this month’s was $7
  • Frequency: Monthly, but you have to order it each time. I get emails from My Subscription Addiction to remind me when each box goes on sale!
  • Type of products: Deluxe samples and sometimes full sized versions of beauty products
  • Reviews from my previous boxes here!

box open

This month’s insert reads “hello fireworks” and has a little paragraph about the box’s theme, which is products that will “add some extra sparkle”. I think I’ve said this before, but honestly I think the box themes are a bit arbitrary and random but oh well. The packaging is cute, with the blue card and red tissue paper. Very patriotic despite the fact that the 4th of July has already come and gone lol

items laid out

This month we have 8 things! 7-8 seems to be about the average for this box – I plan on writing another analysis of beauty boxes post for Target like I did for Sephora, so keep an eye out for that.

masks

Que Bella Face Masks – Replenishing & Hydrating
$4.48 total value

YAY I love face masks! I’ve used some of these Que Bella masks before and liked them well enough, and I especially liked that they included one peel-off mask and one clay mask. I like some variety in my life. I couldn’t find these exact varieties on the website, but they have a lot of different varieties for sale in store and online.

deodorant

Secret Clear Gel Deodorant – Cool Waterlily
$1.06 value

This is an item I always love getting in beauty boxes – you can never have too many travel size deodorants!! I don’t normally use this gel kind but I don’t dislike it by any means, and I really like the scent. Definitely something I’ll keep around for travel or to throw in my bag for touch ups on hot days.

jf

John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-up Crème
$0.20 value

Next up is this “touch up creme” from John Frieda. I knew I recognized this packaging from somewhere, and it turns out I got a sample size of the conditioner from this line from my last Walmart Box before I unsubscribed. I’m not a fan of foil samples in beauty boxes and I don’t normally use things like this in my hair, so this one doesn’t have a lot of personal value to me – but I’ll still try to make some use of it.

scunci

Scunci Cashmere Blend Headwraps
$2.00 value

I love stretchy headbands like this so I was super excited to get these! Having a cashmere blend for a headband seems strange but they’re extremely soft and comfortable. They stayed in place my entire work day too. I really like these!!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizing Gel
$2.65 value

This product is something I’ve actually heard really good reviews for, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it in my box. It reminds me a lot of the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb I’ve tried in the past – both are lightweight, very hydrating, and smell great. The sample is SO SMALL though!! I held my hand next to it in that second pic to show you the comparison. Despite that, I really like this moisturizer! If I didn’t already have so many other ones to get through I would consider purchasing the full size haha

elf

e.l.f. Illuminating Mist & Set
$3.00 value

Elf is a brand I’m super familiar with, but as far as I know this is their first appearance in a Target beauty box! Some of the first products I ever purchased were from Elf. I think they’ve come a LONG way in the past few years and I love that they’re available in Target now while remaining super affordable. However, this spray is unfortunately a bit of a miss for me! The spray itself feels fine but omg that spray nozzle is like a fire hose!! I sprayed it on my face the same distance as I use my other setting sprays and I ended up like…drenched. It was really surprising and annoying lol. I’m also puzzled about how the packaging says it’s an illuminating spray, but on the product page it says it’s a mattifying spray. I feel like you can’t be both of those lol. Nevertheless I will probably try to use this up – I’ll just have to hold it farther from my face next time!!!

day cream

Acure Day Cream
$9.71 value

Target seems to really like this Acure brand lately – this is the third product I’ve gotten from them in the past few months! I like the brand’s all-natural values and ingredients though, so I don’t mind. This is a really nice moisturizer that blends in nicely without feeling greasy or heavy. It’s also a really nice sized sample and the highest value item in the box! My only slight qualm is the smell, which is a strange kinda spicy scent? I don’t hate it but I don’t love it haha

wipes

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
$1.26 value

Finally, we have something I’m super familiar with! I’ve mentioned before that I don’t really use makeup wipes as much anymore, but these are my favorite when I do use them. They just…work so much better than other brands. I’ll definitely keep these on hand for when I’m traveling or too lazy to use my coconut oil lol

No real makeup products in this box, but I did swatch the two moisturizers I got:

swatches

You can see the Neutrogena one is a clear gel-like moisturizer, while the Acure is definitely more of a thicker cream. As made obvious by their respective product names. Haha

And of course, the info card that contains all the little blurbs about each product and a $3 off coupon!

note

I love some of the little “tips” they include on this card sometimes…like the Secret one that tells us we sweat at night. Thanks Target for the pro tip, lol. I do love that they noted how Acure donates 10 cents to United for HER for every purchase – a great concept and neat that they shared it here too!!

items

This box had a total value of $24.36! Like I said, I plan to do an analysis post to see the overall values of the Target boxes – hopefully soon!! I love Target beauty boxes because they are consistently high monetary value for the price paid, and I personally usually really like the products inside too. Be sure to check out my past Target box reviews and keep an eye out for next month’s box as well 🙂

Thanks for reading!! <3 Kaela
