August 2017 Favorites

Hello and welcome to this month’s August favorites! I feel like this month really dragged on a lot more than July did, which felt like it just flew right out from under my nose…but I also felt like I was constantly busy this month, which may explain my lack of posts recently! Anyway – here’s my favorite things from this past month! Also I have a lot of beauty items this month so I’m going to start with all those lol

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick

So I’m pretty sure this has been in my favorites before annnnnd it’s back. I got this for free from Influenster a few months ago and I honestly absolutely love it. I’m almost finished with it and I’m seriously considering repurchasing, which is crazy because it’s kinda expensive lol. The color (110 Ivoire C) is a bit dark on my skin tone and if I repurchase I actually might go a shade lighter, but it blends out beautifully. Not only that – it stays on PERFECTLY all day. No creasing or getting clumped up and nasty throughout the day, even when it’s hot and sweaty outside. This is a contender for my wedding day makeup – it’s so amazing!!!

RCMA No Color Powder

This is a relatively new item for me and it’s surprising because normally I can’t stand loose powders. I currently have an Elf and a NYX one and I kinda hate both of them lol and I’ve tried many other brands in the past and I just can’t get into them. They tend to make my undereye concealer all creasey and weird looking, they give me major flashback in photos and they’re just messy! But this powder doesn’t do any of those things. I don’t know what it is about this, but it’s the only powder I’ve used that doesn’t fly all over the place whenever I use it. It also sets my face really nicely and doesn’t settle into my face like others have. The packaging is kind of weird since it looks like it’s a spice bottle or something but I usually put some into a little cup and apply it with a beauty blender that way. So far it’s working well for me and I really like it!

CosRx AHA Whitehead Power Liquid and BHA Blackhead Power Liquid

This is another recent find – I bought both of them on Amazon to try out and they’ve been doing great things for my skin! I wrote about skin care a little bit back in my skin care routine post and these have made a great addition. I only use them a few times a week, not every day, and I don’t use both on the same day. But a little has gone a long way and I’ve already seen improvements in my skin texture and brightness. I’m excited to continue using them and see more results. If you’re interested in learning more about AHAs and BHAs or skincare in general I highly suggest checking out the SkincareAddiction subreddit!

Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Contouring Concealer

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this in a favorites post before but honestly this is my new favorite thing pretty much forever. I am obsessed with this concealer. It’s perfect for blemishes as well as under my eyes, and lately I’ve been using it as a spot concealer for no-foundation days too! It’s so easy to blend and it also works really well as an eye primer. The color I use is Fair Beige. I love this stuff so much!!!!!

The Good Place on Netflix

Finally a non-makeup item haha. This month I saw some people on reddit discussing a new Netflix show called The Good Place. I decided to give it a try and it’s so good!! Kristen Bell is hilarious in it and it’s very quirky and clever. It kind of gave me vibes of Community or Happy Endings if you ever watched that. It was easy to binge too – there’s only 13 episodes and they’re like 20 minutes each. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Wine Nights

This one is my most favorite thing from this month! So lately me and my best pals Ana and Sarah (who you may know from the Beach Club & Chill series) have been doing this thing we call wine nights. Every week or two weeks (or whenever we feel like it), we have a wine night together. We all get some wine in our respective homes and watch a movie together. It started one night when we decided to watch Titanic together and we’ve taken turns choosing movies since then! It’s so much fun and a really good way for us to all “hang out” together even though we’re so far apart 🙂 And my favorite wine that I’ve had most often for these evenings has been the Yellow Tail moscato from Target haha

Those have been my favorite things from this month! Apologies that it was mostly beauty products but also no apologies because that’s a good majority of my interests so let’s just accept it haha. I hope you enjoyed this post! What were some of your favorite things from this month?

Thanks for reading! <3
