I feel like I say this every month, but I literally cannot believe we are already at the end of September. It has been a CRAZY month (I wrote about why in my last post) and before I even knew it we’re sitting here looking at October. Because of all the craziness this month I didn’t have time to focus on a lot of other stuff, but here are a few things that made me happy this month:
This week I wrote about the return of US Survivor, but in the time between seasons I’ve started watching the Australian version of the show…and it’s so good!! My friends Ana and Sarah begged me to start watching with them and I do not regret it. The current season is the first one I’ve watched but it’s actually the 4th season of the show. It’s the same premise as the American version obviously but they have like…twice as many players. And they play for 55 days instead of 39. Because of this, there’s a lot more content and the episodes are longer and more frequent. I was put off initially because I didn’t know if I would be able to keep up, but it’s kept my interest because the players are all so great!! And they all have great Australian accents. If you like US Survivor or other similar shows I’d suggest you give it a try for sure! But I’m not all the way caught up yet so don’t spoil me haha
Healthy Snack Packs
One of the things I’ve been trying to focus on more lately is taking healthy food to work. I feel like it’s easier to eat healthy at work, because if I only give myself healthy food…my options are eating it or going hungry lol. This month I picked up a couple of these little “snack pack” type things with cheese and some other snacks that pair well together. So far I’ve tried the Sargento Balanced Breaks and Kraft Snack Trios, and I really like both! It’s nice to have an easy little group of snacks that go well together that I can just throw in my bag. However, I quickly realized that I could easily make these myself too with stuff like almonds, dried fruits, cheese – the possibilities are endless!!
So I’m making my own now and it’s a quick and easy way to feel like I’m eating more healthy things haha
I didn’t try a ton of new makeup this month…but omg…I am obsessed with this line. If you’re unfamiliar, Fenty Beauty is the new line by Rihanna that has proven to be enormously popular. I have a full review post coming up soon with my thoughts on the match stix but I absolutely love them, particularly the shades Amber and Starstruck. So far I’ve only been able to try these and a sample of foundation, but I’m obsessed with both and pretty much the entire line is on my wishlist haha. The brand also has a new holiday line coming out in a few weeks…the temptation to just buy it all is so strong!!
Something you may not know about me is that I’ve always been very interested in true crime stories and shows. Lately this has manifested itself in the form of youtube videos, and one of the best series I’ve found has been the Buzzfeed Unsolved videos. I know Buzzfeed has a reputation for being…annoying, I guess haha but I actually love these videos!! Each video is clearly researched and presented well, and I like the format/editing of each video too. I also think the two hosts Shane and Ryan are really funny and do a good job of keeping the story going. Chris and I have really loved watching these videos and comparing theories and stuff haha. They also do some paranormal videos too which I also love!! It’s a great series and easy to binge watch – definitely check it out if you like stuff like this too!
My New MacBook
Somewhere in this crazy hectic month I also made another major purchase – I replaced my MacBook! My computer has been so faithful to me in the 4 years I’ve had it, but it was time for a replacement – the trackpad was no longer working, and the battery was shot. I bought it used and it was about 8 years old at this point so it was time to retire it. As a replacement, I now have a stunning new MacBook Air!! It’s beautiful and SO FAST I never realized how slow my old laptop was before this haha. Naturally I also have already gotten a beautiful pink case for it and actually found a really cute pale pink Chrome theme to match as well…basically, I’d like as many things in my life to be pleasantly pink as possible.
And that’s my favorite things for this month!! I hope you enjoyed this post as always – what were your favorite things for September??
