Beach Club & Chill – Day 3

This is part of a series about our BFF vacation in May 2017. All the posts about our trip will be listed here! Make sure you read the other posts first 🙂

It’s been ages since my last update but here we are on day 3 of our epic adventure!! If you remember, Day 2 had been Ana’s birthday and we celebrated by checking into the Beach Club! We’ll continue our stay here again today.

Unfortunately, Monday was one of the two days of our vacation that I actually was scheduled to work!! I had transferred to Epcot Guest Relations so soon before the trip that I wasn’t able to get all the days off. But it wasn’t too bad – I had a short shift that evening so we still had time for lots of Epcot fun in the morning! And since we were staying at Beach Club, we could just walk right over in the morning for maximum fun time. We got to the park straight away to get as much done as possible!

So first thing in the morning we WALKED right over to Epcot! It was seriously amazing to be able to pop right over there – we could see why people stay there haha

Our first stop was for some photopass pics in France! It was super bright outside hence our slightly squinty faces lol

We had an agenda to hit as many rides as possible before I had to work, and our first stop was Soarin!

Next we headed to Mission Space and Test Track:

Mission Space was great, we didn’t have a navigator but lived anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sarah and I designed this cool car:

And my hair had a mind of its own in the ride photo lol you can also see that we had the car to ourselves!!

After that it was time to head back to World Showcase for some snacking!

We also picked up our Easter Egg hunts that were being offered for the Flower & Garden festival! We missed a bunch of eggs along the way though lol. Our first stop for food actually wasn’t until Germany. Here we sampled two dishes: Warm Cheese Strudel with Mixed Berries and Potato Pancake with Caramelized Ham, Onions and Herb Sour Cream.

Both were great!! I really enjoyed the strudel (warm cheese <3) and despite my hatred of onions, the pancake was great too. Sarah and Ana enjoyed that one more than me haha

Of course we also got a few food glamour shots.

There was also a cute photo op with the Snow White topiary in Germany which we stopped for as well!

You can tell it was getting hot because we all have our hair up by this point lol

We stopped again soon after, in Italy:

meatball

This was a delicious and perfectly shareable Meatball Parmigiana: Hand-made Beef and Veal Meatballs, Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Parmigiana and Fresh Basil.

Some more photopass pics in Italy:

At some point in here we also briefly met up with Chris who was just coming in to work – I realized I had forgotten to bring a lunch for work so he brought me a Subway sandwich and we met up to get it from him lol. Sarah referred to this as a Subway drug deal and took some spy photos of us hahahah

Then we took a much-needed AC break inside the American Adventure, and watched Voices of Liberty!

After we were cooled off we took another snack break, also in America. Here we visited the Smokehouse kiosk:

These beautiful dishes are the Pulled Pig Slider and the Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash with White Cheddar Fondue and Pickled Jalapeños. Both were AMAZING – some of our favorites. I’m pretty sure I get that slider multiple times each year and it never disappoints!!

We continued making our way around World Showcase – it was getting to be later in the afternoon now and close to when I had to start work! But we had a few more stops planned before I started my shift. One of those was the Florida Fresh booth, where we got two more great snacks:

Here we have Shrimp and Stone-ground Grits with Andouille Sausage, Sweet Corn , Tomatoes and Cilantro and Carne Asada with Black Bean Cake and Cilantro Lime Sour Cream. Again, both of these were so good but omg that shrimp and grits was amazing!!! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the grits were creamy and delicious. I don’t think I even fully know what grits are but it was amazing.

We started to make our way back to the front of the park, but leisurely – we had time to stop for some photo ops along the way!

We got to the front of Spaceship Earth, where we took some of my favorite photos EVER and definitely my favorites from this trip!! We found a photopass photographer that had a fisheye lens – we absolutely loved these cute pics she did for us!!

Ugh they’re just so cute! I had never seen a photopass photog with a lens like that before but I loved it. I’ve seen them roaming around that area a few times since then so I hope it’s becoming a continued thing!!

We stopped one last time at the front of Spaceship Earth for a few last minute pics before I headed to work!

birthday!

And from there, I headed to my shift and Sarah and Ana continued their Epcot adventures. Fortunately for you and me, they continued to keep track of the fun things they did so I could document them here haha

sarah ana

First they took a little break to pop over and say hi to me! I loved being able to get a GR pic with my best friends ^_^

Next my pals trekked back to World Showcase where they had a very coveted FP calling their name – Frozen! I didn’t get to go on it with them obviously but I was lucky enough to secure one through frequent refreshing in the days leading up to the trip haha

Before that though they made a stop in Mexico for some margaritas! Ana also had a lovely birthday serenade from the mariachi band outside:

cute

Later they tweeted a cast compliment to the band for being such great birthday pals 🙂 Now, it was onward to Frozen!

I love that old man in front of them lol. They tell me they both enjoyed the ride!!

From there they continued around the world – first stopping back at Mexico for some empanadas and chips, more margaritas, and a ride on Ana’s favorite attraction, Gran Fiesta Tour!

Sarah stopped in China for my personal favorite festival drink, Kung Fu Punch:

kfp

They strolled through Germany and Italy, (saying hi to Chris on the way) and on to Japan.

italy

In France, they stopped to watch one of my favorite attractions – Impressions de France – and try some snacks. By this point it had started POURING rain so they spent some time in France exploring the shops too. They tried on berets but unfortunately there is no photographic evidence of this haha. Sarah got an onion tart from the Flower & Garden booth, and Ana got a pack of macarons from the patisserie for us to enjoy later.

onion

Ana says that the tart was yummy and having it while I was at work was the perfect time to enjoy it since I hate onions haha

In the UK they also made a stop for some fish & chips before heading back into Future World to visit me again! This time I was at the Express Transportation location (RIP) and they popped over to say hi.

sse night

On the way over, it was raining so hard that Ana fell right outside Spaceship Earth (I am told it was a serious wipeout) and scratched up her arm pretty bad. After they stopped to say hi to me they headed over to first aid to get some bandaids. It was just a scrape and she was just fine the rest of the trip after that 🙂

After that it was time to get a spot for Illuminations and almost time for me to finish my shift!! They picked up the last dish of the day – scallops from Canada:

scallops

And in the literally 2 seconds while they were taking these trash can scallop pics someone stole their Illuminations spot!!!! How rude. But they still had a good view:

illum

I was able to clock out pretty much as soon as Illuminations was over and we all headed back to the Beach Club together! Unfortunately it was like pouring at this point again lol but we were all able to dry off back at the room. Here we were also able to enjoy the macarons Ana got for us earlier:

macs

Sarah and I were carefully trying each one individually, taking small bites so we could all share when we look over and Ana is finishing off the lemon one lol but we got to try all the other flavors. If I remember right, they were pistachio, vanilla, chocolate, blueberry, lemon and raspberry. They were all pretty good!! Except lemon which we did not get to try lmao

We also used this time to enjoy our free cupcakes from the day before:

cupcake

And some of our popcorn as well!

And after that we packed up our stuff to get ready to leave the next day! I also used the hotel hair dryer to dry my shoes hahaha. And then we headed to sleep! It was a long day but a fun one and thankfully one of only two days that I had to work during this trip, so it was relatively painless. I hope you enjoyed this next installment of our vacation! We’re only halfway through our trip and have a lot more fun ahead of us still 🙂

As always if you enjoy trip report-style posts like this be sure to check out our last major trip, when Chris and I went to Seattle and Disneyland, here! Thanks for reading!!
