We’re Going on an Alaskan Cruise!!

Feels like I just wrote a post like this one but I am SO excited to share that we have booked our next Disney Cruise…to ALASKA!

That’s right – we loved our Bahamian cruise so much that we decided to book another one right away!! …okay, that’s not EXACTLY how it happened but we did book this one while on board our last cruise 🙂

Here’s the story: my parents have been talking about how they want to go on the Disney Alaskan cruise for…years? Since we went on our first cruise in 2013 probably! We thought it could never happen due to price and availability, and I knew it was unlikely we would be able to get a cast discount on it. Fast forward to when we booked this cruise – Sarah also seemed really into the idea of the Alaskan cruise, and after doing some research we found out that the best price we could get was likely going to be with an onboard booking. So when we were on the Dream last month we found out more info about how the process works, and decided to do it!!

me immediately after booking our Alaska cruise!!!

When you book your next Disney cruise while on board you get half off the deposit and 10% off the total cost of the cruise. It doesn’t sound like that much, but when the total cost of the cruise is like thousands of dollars…that’s a lot of money saved. We’ll also get $200 stateroom credit per room for next time that we can spend on anything! It’s still going to be pretty expensive, so luckily we have a long time to save since we won’t be cruising until next year.

cannot wait to see these good friends on board ^_^

I am SO excited to go to Alaska…it’s a place unlike anywhere any of us have ever visited before. It’s going to be especially fun because my whole family is joining us for this cruise! It’s going to be my parents, siblings, Chris and me, my best friends Ana and Sarah, and Sarah’s boyfriend Grant! For a HUGE party of 10 people to explore the ship with!! We’ll have 3 first time cruisers and two birthdays to celebrate onboard, and of course our first time to Alaska…there’s going to be SO much to celebrate onboard the Disney Wonder!!

Can’t wait to take another pic like this with a different ship in the background…and probably slightly different attire

We are SO excited for our next cruise. Since it’s so far away we have a lot of time to plan and research, and of course we’ve already started a new spreadsheet for the trip! Even though many of us have already been on a Disney cruise, the Alaskan itinerary is extremely different than Bahamian cruises, and obviously the Wonder is a new ship for all of us. Some of the things we’re most excited about:

  • EATING AT TIANA’S PLACE 😍
  • Amazing and unique excursions – whale watching, wilderness trains, dogsledding!!
  • Having tons of time to spend at all the ports in Alaska and explore!
  • Fun things that come with longer cruises – formal night and more time at each of the restaurants!
  • Mickey and pals in Alaskan outfits!
  • Taking a vacation with my ENTIRE family!!
  • And soooo much more 🙂

It’s going to be incredible! I’m sure I’ll talk about it a lot more in the next year and some change, so we’ll see what excursions and everything we decide on! I’m also going to get started on writing about our last cruise on here sometime soon, so keep an eye out for that too if you’re interested 🙂 If you’ve ever been on an Alaskan cruise (especially a Disney one!) let me know what you loved about it – we would love to hear any and all planning tips! <3

You’re going to Alaska in 2019? So are we! We’ve done Alaska on the Wonder twice before. Since we live in the Pacific Northwest it’s actually a better price for us than flying to Florida for a Bahamas cruise. You’ll love it! Vancouver is a beautiful city to cruise out of too. I’m looking forward to reading more about your recent cruise.

ahhh yes! We’re going in September! It’s everyone’s first time to Alaska and many first time cruisers as well. We are SO excited to visit Vancouver as well! 🙂
