Rainforest Room on the Disney Dream

Something we had read about and were very curious to try on the Disney Dream was the spa, specifically something called the Rainforest Room. There’s not a ton of information about it online but what we could find really piqued our interest. It turned out to be one of the best parts of the trip and a real hidden gem!!

The name is kind of a misnomer – it’s not really just one “room”, but instead a section of the spa with a few different areas to relax and unwind. The way the Rainforest Room works is you purchase a pass, either for one day or the whole length of the cruise. At the time we went it was about $29 per person for a day pass, which includes an added gratuity. We got day passes for our Nassau day which was also my birthday! With our pass we were able to go in and out of the spa to use the Rainforest Room as many times as we wanted until they closed for the evening.

We actually purchased our passes on day 1 to make sure we could get them. We had read that though this experience is a hidden gem, it’s super popular among those who know about it. There are only a limited number of passes available so it does sell out!

Upon purchasing our day pass they put a sticker on our Key to the World card, which would allow us access for the whole day. When you go to check in, they hold your card to pick back up before you leave and give you a wristband and a robe. The wristband gives you access to the Rainforest Room and is kinda like a magicband!

The first time we went, a cast member also gave us a tour so we knew where everything was. Before entering the main area, you can drop off any belongings in the locker room and change into a robe. The locker room area is small but does the job! There’s a little getting ready area, some showers, and of course tons of towels.

After changing we all met back up in the Rainforest Room!

Luckily there was no one else around when we entered so I could take some photos!

Upon entry there’s a small beverage station:

And about 2000 more towels:

To the left is one of the main draws of the space: the different showers! There’s all kinds of different settings and temperatures meant to help you relax. You can see here all you have to do is step inside and push the button and it starts!

We tried all of them just to say we did. They had one called “Siberian Night” which was like ICE COLD water shooting down at you it was scary lol. We all loved one called “Warm Rain” that was super relaxing and just the right temperature! The showers reminded me a lot of the outdoor hydrotherapy gardens from the Laniwai Spa at Aulani – you can check out my review of that one here!

Past the showers is an area with a few saunas – we did not spend too much time in here. I already live in Florida so I can get that kind of humidity any time I want just by walking outside lol

There were a lot of people in the sauna the second time we went though, so clearly some seem to enjoy it!

Back toward the entrance is another room of these heated lounge chairs.

We had a slight fear that utilizing the chairs after going in the showers would lead to us cooking in the sunlight but we did not get cooked so crisis averted. These chairs were SO nice. They were heated just right so that you could lay down on a towel and just relax! There was also again barely any other guests there, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

The chairs looked out onto the open air hot tub area:

This was amazing!! There are 2 hot tubs, each big enough for 2 people. They had a sort of weird curved floor shaped similarly to the heated chairs that you could lay on, it was so nice. Just being in that room and looking out over the ocean (or really, in our case, Nassau and other cruise ships) was so pleasant. I could’ve stayed there for hours.

I can definitely see how this pass would be very appealing on sea days – I can only imagine how awesome it would be to look out over the ocean from the comfort of your hot tub!

All in all we probably spent about 3 hours there on our day pass, and at the end of the day they also gave each of us a little scrub to take home! I think for less than $30 it was definitely worth it. Getting a length of cruise pass would probably be AMAZING, especially on longer cruises where you can really use it a lot. Realistically you could go in there every day just for an hour or two!

There’s still some mystery surrounding this pass for me, even after having used it! I’ve read a few places that you can buy a multi-day couples pass for a slight discount, so we’ll have to look into that for next time. Since we went I also found out that you can actually pre-purchase day passes online here for only $16 a person! They have a spa (and a Rainforest Room) on all 4 Disney ships, and I think we’ll definitely be going back when we sail away on the Wonder next year! I hope if you’re planning on cruising any time soon you’ll also indulge in the Rainforest Room – it’s a real hidden gem 🙂 The rest of my cruise posts are coming soon…thanks for reading as always!! ❤️
