Tourin’ Over California – Day 9

Only two days left in our California trip – and I really want to get them done by the end of the year, so these next few are going to be coming at you rapid-fire 🙂 For our second-to-last day in Disneyland, we worked hard to do as many things as possible and make the most of the little time we had left!!

DAY 9 – SEPTEMBER 20, 2018

We were super excited to get started with our day because we had some extra special plans. We met up with the lovely and talented Sarina of Sarina Love Photography to get some amazing photos from our first trip to Disneyland together! Sarina is such a joy and got so many fantastic and special photos for us. Though I want to share them all… here are a few of my favorites:

One of my absolute favs – our beautiful castle photo with NO ONE behind us!

We had to get a few classic ride photos:

And a few in front of our favorite, Small World:

We brought an outfit change too, for some variety! For our first outfit we went with black tops and statement skirts. All our skirts are from Pinup Girl Clothing. Mine is the Mary Blair Jenny skirt in pink umbrellas print, Ana’s is the Jenny in yellow umbrellas, and Sarah’s is the Bella skirt in pink castle print.

For our second outfit we wore matching shirts from Once Upon Apparel. We’ve never done matching shirts before but we absolutely loved these and it was so fun to match! I think we’ll definitely do it again on future Disney trips.

An absolute must was a photo of us facing the castle – something we’ve done on all our Walt Disney World trips!

And we also took some fun churro photos – I love how they turned out!

Finally, we hopped over to DCA for a few last Fun Wheel photos.

I am so grateful to Sarina for helping us capture these memories in such a beautiful way! Up until this day we didn’t really have that many photos of all three of us together, so we were all very glad to have so many great ones to choose from 🥰

After our photoshoot we popped back to the hotel quickly to drop off our change of clothes and then it was back to the park!

We wanted to get as much done as possible so we made ourselves a fastpass and got on our way. We did a few rides and made fastpasses for a few more before it was time for our lunch reservation at Storytellers Cafe.

For lunch I enjoyed one of my all-time favorite Disneyland foods, the roasted corn chowder. Incredible.

Sarah got the special soup which was pork belly:

For my entree I got the Croque Monsieur which was delicious:

Ana and Sarah both got pizzas – Sarah with the lemon shrimp and Ana with sausage and prosciutto:

Everything was amazing!! Lunch made us super sleepy but it wasn’t naptime yet! We went back to the park to do Indiana Jones, Autopia, and Space Mountain before hopping on the monorail. And after all of that, it WAS naptime! We headed back to our resort for a midday break.

We woke up feeling super refreshed and ready for more! We had some snacks – a Dole Whip:

And possibly my favorite snack of the trip – a Halloween special churro SUNDAE:

Omg it was incredible. Cookie dough ice cream, caramel sauce, and a churro. It couldn’t have been more perfect for me if I made it myself.

After that we had a fastpass for Splash Mountain, which we were excited but nervous about as it was getting dark so we wouldn’t have the sun to dry us off. We figured we’d never gotten TOO wet on WDW’s Splash, so it would be fine…

We were wrong – we got SOAKED! We seriously were drenched from head to toe! It was extremely annoying especially because I was wearing denim shorts so I knew I was going to have wet shorts for the rest of the day haha. But after cleaning ourselves up in the bathroom a bit it wasn’t that bad. And we still had a lot to do! We had a few more fastpasses lined up for Incredicoaster and one last ride on Guardians, so we headed over to DCA to do those.

While there I also took my classic “I hate Carsland” photo that I’ve done on every trip:

Then we came BACK to Disneyland for dinner at Jolly Holiday:

Before one last ride – Pirates! It was a pretty full day and we were pooped! We stopped at World of Disney on the way home for some quick shopping and then it was time to head home.

Back at the hotel we didn’t feel like getting our things ready to go, so instead we watched Captain EO and Country Bear Jamboree on youtube. It was a real treat and MUCH better than packing up our bags 😉 Eventually though we had to get our things ready so we quickly did that and then fell right to sleep. It hadn’t yet set in that it was our last night in Paradise Pier and soon we would be going home… but we were trying not to think about it!!

That’s all for our penultimate day of fun in Disneyland! I have just one more post/video to go in this series and then I’m done – I’m really sad to be over but I can’t wait to have these posts and videos to look back on in the future and remember all the fun we had. Stay tuned for the last day coming very soon!! I hope you enjoyed this one and I’ll see ya next time 🙂
