Very Merrytime Cruise Part 5: Finale!

We’ve finally reached the end of our very merry MYSTERY vacation! Chris perfectly planned and expertly pulled off a surprise vacation for me – if you haven’t read the rest of the parts or watched the vlogs, catch up here first! But for now, here’s our finale: our last day on board and traveling home! A relatively unexciting day comparatively, but a good wrap up/reflection too…read on to see my final thoughts!

DAY 5 – NOVEMBER 16, 2018

Sadly we were up bright and early this day, as it was time to start heading home from our amazing trip! We had set aside some time the day before to pack so we just had to get ready and head straight to breakfast. It was at Animator’s Palate, the same place we had our amazing dinner the night before.

The menu was simple for our last day:

I had waffles and Chris had a platter of eggs, hashbrowns and bacon!

Once we finished our breakfast we said goodbye to everything one last time and made our way off of the Disney Wonder for now!

We were sad to leave, but knew that we would be heading back real soon! We got a Lyft to the airport and had a long day of travel ahead of us. The earliest flight we could get out of Houston wasn’t until 4:30, so we had a few hours to spend in the airport. The time went by quickly enough and soon we were on the plane home.

At home we had a very excited pup greet us!

And as quickly as it began, it was over!!

Going on a mystery vacation was so much fun, but also very nerve-wracking!! You all probably know by now that I am a compulsive planner, so it drove me CRAZY to not know what was going on and what Chris was planning for me. He managed to keep it a surprise all the way until we got to the airport which was SO much fun. Not knowing the plan encouraged me to let go of the reigns and just go with the flow of whatever happened – something that I almost NEVER do! I tend to be pretty uptight on that front, with schedules and plans ruling my life. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that kind of structure, but it was nice to be able to just take things as they come and relax in a different kind of way. I’m so glad and grateful that Chris put the thought and effort into planning this trip for me. I lucked out on the husband front I guess! Hopefully we get to do more in the future… I guess I should plan one for him now, right?? 😉

I hope so much that you enjoyed this series and will stay tuned for future travel blogs/videos! Next up will be Europe – London and Paris – and I can’t wait to get started getting those up. Until then check out my past trip reports and travel vlogs…there are a lot! Thanks so much for reading and watching and I’ll see you next time!! <3
