My Chromatica Ball Outfits

Hi! It’s been a while!

I haven’t written anything here for a few years – I fell out of the habit and then got really into making youtube videos for a bit, and then fell out of that for a bit too. But I really enjoyed doing it and after some coaxing and encouragement from friends, I decided there’s no reason I can’t do both!

I can’t guarantee this will be a super regular occurrence, but I didn’t want to leave this beautiful blog abandoned (like so many other creative projects I’ve done…)! A lot of things have changed since I last wrote – I graduated college, I quit my job at Disney, I moved to Seattle, I have purple hair now! But I’ll save all of those recaps for another time or you can just go watch my moving-across-the-country vlogs if you’re so inclined. ANYWAY all of that is NOT what I’m writing about today – I wanted to share with you something very important, of earth-shattering significance and utmost urgency:

what I wore to Lady Gaga’s Chromatica Ball!

I went to two shows, so I had two outfits to put together, and I am soooo happy with how both of them turned out! Here’s the video I made that shows absolutely everything – scroll down a bit for a few extra tips and tidbits, as well as links to everything I used!

My first outfit was inspired by Gaga’s Stupid Love video and I am so in love with the look! It was definitely super sweaty (it was latex after all) but I looked and felt SO good and confident and got tons of compliments at the show. Unfortunately, as I said in the video, security did end up taking my belt 😭 RIP to that belt. I kinda expected it but still a big bummer! Luckily we took photos beforehand so I had ocular proof that it existed.

What I used for this look:
bra top / knickers / belt / shoes were thrifted / spikes / spray paint #1 / spray paint #2 / glitter / clear coat / lock / paper for face decor / latex powder / tattoos / choker / mask

Makeup for this look:
eyeshadow / foundation / concealer / powder / blush / highlighter / brows / eyeliner / mascara / lipstick / lashes

My second look was much more casual but I loved it so much too! The top is a crop with a built-in bra from this brand Klassy Network…yall I cannot explain to you how obsessed I am with this brand. I have like double-digit number of tops from them. Post-pandemic I am simply not interested in wearing bras anymore. I could write an essay about how much I love these tops (and now that I’m blogging again, maybe that’s not out of the question). But I digress – it was a perfect concert top, super cool and comfortable. I wore it with some shorts from Target, sparkly fishnets that I got for Pride a few months ago, and my holographic clear fanny pack. This was also a PERFECT concert choice since the show was in a stadium and this fit the clear-bag policy.

What I used for this look:
crop top / shorts / tights / shoes / makeup was basically the same plus glitter / sunglasses / fanny pack / thrifted jacket / dye / embroidery thread & sewing supplies I already had / spikes / patches from these etsy shops: jojostorehighjob, athenabrands, mrmrdesign, shoppopcore, sophiepatch, patchpartyclub / pins from sehreensartlab, sixupshop, thesavagecollective and shout your abortion / locking pin backs

A few things that didn’t make it into the video:

  • At both shows, I sadly had some extra accessories that I didn’t remember until I got to the venue! At the first show I forgot my super cool sunglasses (it’s ok, I wore them to #2), and at the second I forgot to put on my Chromatica necklace…womp womp. It’s alright, I plan to wear it every day for the rest of my life to make up for it.
  • When making my face decals for the Stupid Love outfit, I also made some for my inner eye. In the video, Gaga has just a little bit of sparkle there so I wanted to emulate that, but they were a bit bulky and hard to attach. Instead I ended up using these SUPER cute little stickers that Sarah had gotten for the show. They were just the right touch and stayed on perfectly the whole time! Definitely want to make use of those again.
  • By the end of the show, my boots were…pretty wrecked, to say the least! The paint was cracking pretty badly on it so I decided to toss them once I was done. I didn’t feel too bad about it since they were thrifted and I already had made such good use out of upcycling them. Thank you for your service, boots!
  • Wearing Gaga’s fake tattoos inspired me to finally get my own Gaga tattoo that I’ve been wanting to for years! I have an appointment in October – stay tuned for pics 🙂

Finally, a close up of my Chromatica-ready hair and nails – I’m extremely grateful to have AMAZING beauty experts that helped me look my best for the trip! If you live in Seattle, you should be going to Ainsley for hair and Natasha for nails 🙂

We had such an amazing time at the shows and I’m so glad I got to go twice. We purchased our NY tickets in MARCH 2020 (!!!) so it was pretty wild to finally be able to go to this show over two years later.

And I think that’s everything! Thanks for reading & watching, sorry I’ve been away so long but hopefully it won’t be like that this time 😉

xo!
