Tourin’ Over California – Our LAST Day

Well… it’s finally the end 😭 Welcome to the FINAL day of our California trip! After 10 amazing days we’d finally reached the end. We had one last fantastic full day in Disneyland before heading to the airport to catch our flights home!

DAY 10 – SEPTEMBER 21, 2018

We woke up so sad to be on our last day of vacation – the worst part of any trip is going home!! But we were determined to have another amazing day and not let our sadness about going home affect the fun we had. We checked out of our room at Paradise Pier and dropped off our bags and it was off to the park! We decided to re-wear our skirts from the day before because we only wore them for the photoshoot and they were too cute to only wear for an hour!!

Our mission for the day was to do anything we hadn’t yet, plus any favorites that we wanted to re-ride. For the first ride of the day we decided to do the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage which was so much fun!!

It was so cool and unlike anything we have in WDW. Next it was more Disneyland-exclusive rides – Alice in Wonderland, Storybook Boats, and back to one of our favorites, Mr. Toad.

We also went on Snow White, then Space Mountain again before heading back to the front of the park for some breakfast, but not without a few photos first…

For breakfast we had a few things in mind. Sarah had a Matterhorn macaroon from Jolly Holiday:

And we also stopped by New Orleans Square for some of my favorites – beignets!

Sarah and Ana both got mint juleps as well, and Sarah got a super cool poison apple glow cube:

After breakfast we hit up a few of our favorites again – Pirates and Indiana Jones. Then we decided to head over to say goodbye to DCA.

In DCA I was on the lookout for one souvenir in particular – a new phone case. We didn’t see it in Disneyland or Downtown Disney but I was in luck at DCA!!

It’s beautiful and so sparkly!! I also had a specific treat in mind in DCA that I had been looking forward to the whole trip. I had my eye on the hand-dipped ice cream bars from Clarabelle’s and I wasn’t about to stop til I got one. We had tried a few times earlier in the trip but the place had been closed but now was my time!!

I got vanilla ice cream with dark chocolate and all the toppings!!

It has chocolate chips, pearls, sprinkles, Mickey confetti sprinkles, and pop rocks!!

UGH it was so amazing. This is going to be a must-do for me every time now!!

After enjoying this masterpiece of an ice cream bar we went over to Guardians for one last ride. We rode it more than any other attraction on this trip, six times – safe to say we love it so much!!

Next we stopped by the Animation Building for a few minutes, then got in one last ride on the Incredicoaster as well as – of course – a few more photos.

After that we popped back to Cars Land, not for any rides – but for lunch! Sarah and I both got Cozy Cones which we had been looking forward to for a few days. I got the classic regular bacon mac & cheese, and she got the special Halloween one served in a black cone with hot cheetos on top!

Ana picked up some lunch at Flo’s and we met her there to eat all together. For some reason Flo’s is one of the things I miss most about Disneyland – when I was editing the videos, every time I would get to a part at Flo’s and hear the music I would get so nostalgic. I miss it so much!! I still hate the Cars movies but I love Flo’s haha ❤️

After lunch we made a quick trip back over to the Cozy Cone so Ana could get another special Halloween treat – a pumpkin spice churro!!

LISTEN this was incredible. This was a life-altering churro. It was so delicious and so fresh, the cream cheese icing was amazing, and it sparkled in the sun with little GHOST SPRINKLES!!!

After all of that it was time to say goodbye to DCA. We said thank you for all the fun we had and stepped out one last time! Disneyland was calling and we had just a few more things we wanted to do before heading out. First we had a Big Thunder fastpass to use, and we also made a wish into Snow White’s wishing well. I don’t remember what mine was now haha but I’m sure it was good!

Near the well we also had a few crazy character interactions! First, the Evil Queen showed up and was messing with us:

You can just barely see me and Sarah peeking out from behind her cape haha! Then, Peter Pan showed up out of nowhere and chatted with Ana:

And then, again out of nowhere, Aladdin and Jasmine came to start taking photos with guests! It was so wild! It’s crazy how different the atmosphere with characters is in Disneyland compared to Walt Disney World. Characters just show up with reckless abandon. Wild.

Naturally we also took this opportunity for some last minute photos.

We couldn’t spend too much time there though because we had a show to catch! Since we went in the off-season and during the week, there was barely any entertainment offerings while we were there. We didn’t get to see Fantasmic or fireworks any night we were there. However, the day we left was a Friday, so there was a showing of Mickey and the Magical Map! We didn’t want to miss it so we hurried over early to wait.

The show was absolutely amazing!! It reminds me a lot of DCL shows in that they just shove as many characters on stage as possible. It was so entertaining and fun and we all shed a few tears! I put a LOT of it in the vlog starting at 12:13, and I highly recommend watching the whole thing in a separate video if you want to – it’s a great show!!

Finally, it was time for our very last ride of the trip. It was definitely bittersweet, and a bit poetic of a choice – Small World ❤️

And then it was time to leave! We sadly made our way out of the park, trying not to cry the whole time. I don’t think any of us shed any tears but I definitely got a bit choked up walking out. Leaving is just so hard!! When we got back to our hotel we collected our bags and changed into travel clothes, then waited for our shuttle to arrive.

At the airport we had our “last supper” together!

My flight left first, so the girls waited with me at my gate to see me off. It was so weird to be all traveling together but it made it easier in a way. Finally it was time to say goodbye as my plane was boarding. I swear, leaving each other never gets any easier. I cry every time we say goodbye no matter what. I love them so much and the worst part of a long distance friendship is goodbye hugs 😭

But I had to go so I headed onto my flight! It was honestly an easy flight – it was a red eye and I was so tired that I almost immediately fell asleep and didn’t wake up til we landed in Orlando. And when I got there I had a very happy husband and puppy to greet me!

And… that’s it! That’s the end. I can’t believe how much fun we had on the trip – I think it was our best one yet. I love Sarah and Ana with my whole heart and I will always cherish the amazing memories that we made on this trip together. And as sad as I am that I can’t be with them all the time, I’m even more happy that we decided to vlog this trip because it’s so easy to look back and remember everything!! We’ve been watching the videos together as I post them and all agree that it’s so much fun to have them when we’re feeling sad or just missing each other.

But that also means that this is the end of this trip report series of videos and blog posts!! I had so much fun reliving it all and I really hope that you enjoyed it too. I definitely have learned a lot about vlogging from this trip, and what works and what doesn’t. I think you can even see an improvement in video quality just from our first day to our last! The whole thing has really kickstarted my interest in making videos and especially trip videos, and I plan to do them for all our trips from now on (starting with the cruise, which will start going up soon!!) Thank you so much for reading and watching, and I hope you’ll come back for future videos and posts 😊

until next time!!
