    A Look Back at 2018

Happy New Year’s Eve!! I can’t believe we’re already done with 2018. This year has flown by but also somehow felt SUPER long. I wanted to reflect on the year as well as what’s to come in 2019. I decided to make a vlog about some of the major events that happened this year and how they’ve impacted my life, but I also wanted to put together a more typical “favorites”-style post with all the best things from 2018. So here that is!

Making Our GHOST Relations Halloween Costumes

It may only be September but it’s Halloween time already at Walt Disney World! Chris and I went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this week and I was so excited to unveil our costumes this year…GHOST Relations cast members! Also, btw, I’m writing most of this post ahead of time – I’m on vacation in California in real time right now but I wanted to post about this while I was gone so there was some content here haha so hello from the past! Anyway – the idea for Ghost Relations first came to me last year: Now,…

Reflecting on a Year in Guest Relations

As you may have seen by my recent instagram post, I recently celebrated my one year anniversary of working at Guest Relations! On March 26 of 2017 I began my journey with Guest Relations and it’s been filled with so many great memories already!! I’ve written about my path in GR here on my blog as it has unfolded and it’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole year already. I feel extremely lucky to have a job in which I feel challenged to my fullest potential nearly every day. A lot of people see Guest Relations as “the…

2017 Year in Review & Favorites

Before I jump into this post – check out my new blog theme!! I decided the start of the new year was as good of an excuse as any to spruce things up around here. The sizing and details on some stuff is still a little wonky while I work everything out but go ahead and have a look around – I hope you like it! I figured with the new year it was time for me to write a “end of 2017” post or something, but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to do it. I want to include…

Work Update: Back to Epcot (for good!)

I have a major work update for you today!! You may remember in my last update back in June, I had just moved from Epcot Guest Relations over to Magic Kingdom Guest Relations. Like I mentioned before, I wasn’t able to stay at Epcot the whole time because there simply wasn’t enough room for all of us on a TA (temporary assignment) to stay. But it wasn’t all bad news – I spent a lovely three months at Magic Kingdom Guest Relations, where I learned a LOT. MK GR was very intimidating at first and I was nervous to take on the…

Work Update: From Epcot to MK

It’s been a while since I talked about my experiences with Guest Relations and how things have been going, and a LOT has happened since I wrote this post. The biggest change is that I’m no longer at Epcot…I’m now at Magic Kingdom Guest Relations! As I’ve mentioned a few times now, my time at Epcot Guest Relations was a TA, or temporary assignment. This is normal for GR and how mostly everyone starts out – you’ll stay on a TA for a while until a permanent spot opens up and you’re lucky enough to get kept full time. It’s…

Work Update: First Days in Guest Relations

It’s been a bit since I wrote about how I got to my current job working at Epcot Guest Relations, so I figured I’d write a little update post about how things are going! Before I could jump right in to Guest Relations, I had a LOT of training to get through. The first week was all spent at Disney University learning the basics of GR. We learned about the core values and ideas of Guest Relations and the legacy behind it. The role originated with Walt himself of course, and it was cool to learn about all the history there…

What I Wore: A Week of Business Casual

I am by no means a fashion blogger – you can catch me wearing Mickey boxers and a v neck from Target on a normal day – but I like to at least attempt to put some effort into my outfits from time to time. For my Guest Relations training, I had a week of training at Disney University where I had to wear business casual before I got to start sporting the plaid. Before I started my Disney College Program I was 100% clueless about what “business casual” meant or even where to start looking for suitable outfits. I’ve come…

    The Road to Guest Relations

This is going to be one of my long and introspective posts – you’ve been warned – because I’ve had a pretty big development recently!! If you haven’t already heard the news, I am now training to work in Guest Relations at my favorite park – Epcot!! This is a journey that’s been a very long time coming…I actually originally wrote a post about this MONTHS ago but didn’t put it up, because it didn’t feel like the right time. Now seems like the right time 🙂 My journey to Guest Relations is something that I’ve mostly kept quiet about for the past few…

    What’s in My Work Bag

I think the contents of a woman’s purse are very telling. It shows what she values and what her necessities are. For this reason, I always find the “what’s in my bag” videos and tags SO interesting. It’s a different, kinda personal look into someone’s life. This will be the first in a series of “what’s in my bag” posts – after this I plan to do my makeup bag as well as what I take to the theme parks 🙂 and that will probably be the end of the series until I think of any other bags lol I decided to…
